Introductions

Fishery Development Center of the Tonkin Gulf is an unit belongs to the Research Institute for Marine Fisheries. Its functions is to carry out tasks on research and application of research results for fisheries development in the Tonkin Gulf

Fishery Development Center of the Tonkin Gulf has its own legal recognition, seal, and is allowed to have the bank accounts at the State Treasury and the Banks that operate in accordance with the law.

The headquarters are located in Hai Phong City, Vietnam.

The operation budget of Fishery Development Center of the Tonkin Gulf is allocated from the State Budget and other sources of income as designated by law.

English name: Fishery Development Center of the Tonkin Gulf (hereafter: FDC Tonkin).

Tasks

To develop and submit to the RIMF:Strategies,plans,programs and projects in the long-term, every five years, and implementing every year; programs and projects assigned; national standards, national technical regulations, technical norms, processes and procedure, technical guidances in the field assigned;

Research on processes of seed production and commercial aquaculture of high value marine species;

To apply and implement the research results for marine fishery development;

Transfers of research results: Technological know-how to develop marine fisheries;

Research on restoration, regeneration and development of gene of high commercial value, precious and rare species or in dangered species in the Tonkin Gulf;

Research on developing a demonstration model of fisheries management;

Effective management of human resources, finance and assets assigned according to the provisions of law;

Do other tasks assigned by the Director.
