To do research, evaluate fisheries biology and marine resources.

Tasks

1. To do survey, stock assessment and fishing capacity of fisheries marine resources.
2. To study on structure characteristics: species composition, yield, productivity and distribution of marine resources;
3. To do research on biological and ecological characteristics of marine species.
4. To evaluate the impact of fishing activities on marine resources and ecosystems;
5. To do research on fisheries biology, fisheries biological economy and applying the model of sustainable fisheries management.
6. To develop and manage databases, sample museum, procedures and rules on the survey of marine resource and marine fisheries biology.
7. Perform other tasks assigned by the Director
