  Abstract:

Grunting toadfish (allenbatrachus grunniens Linnaeus, 1758)  are highly economic value species, delicious white fish meat. In recent years, there were some studies on stone fish, but this is the first study on this fish diseases. The study was conducted from October 2014 to July 2016 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and 280 diseased fish samples had been collected were recorded clinical signs and examined pathogenic. In two years, we observed mortality grunting toadfish phenomenon in cultural cages with some principal signs following: colourless body, tail/fin rot, reduced activity, occur mainly rot on the fin and tail fin; in heavy infection fish, necrosis extend though the infective fish bodies. The studied results showed that: there were 4 different diseases have been identified on the grunting toadfish broodstocks and that frequency were 42,9% infected parasitic disease, 17.9% fin and tail rot disease by vibriosis, 18,6% white excrement diseas and 20,7% blindness diseas. These diseases can cause serious diseases for broodstocks of grunting toadfish; especially, parasitc infection disease can cause mass death in a short time for broodstock fish.
